About our foodbank
Here is an introduction to our project.
The foodbank was founded in 2011 and serves the Glasgow South East Area, approx 100,000 people. We are supported by local churches and faith groups, local community groups and businesses and of course by the general public through permanent collection points in local supermarkets, weekly and ad hoc collections and financial donations. We have about 20 volunteers, without whom we couldn’t continue. Last year we fed 12,200 individuals and numbers are steadily increasing.
We are now permanently located at Unit 1, Govanhill Workspace, 69 Dixon Road, Govanhill, Glasgow, G42 8AT and are open Monday, Wednesday & Friday 12.30 pm till 2 pm.
